What is this course about?

The online course “Sustainable Project Management” explores the principles, frameworks, and practices of sustainable project management, focusing on how to balance project success with environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Learners will gain practical skills in integrating sustainability strategies into project design, implementation, and evaluation. 

 

Dive into a 6-module immersive learning journey:  

 

Module 1 – Introduction to Sustainable Project Management

Understanding sustainability and sustainable development. The triple bottom line: people, planet, profit – The role of project managers in sustainability – Connection between sustainability and project success

Module 2 – Sustainability Frameworks and Standards

UN SDGs, ISO 14001, GPM P5 Standard – Stakeholder engagement and sustainability governance – Integrating sustainability goals into project life cycles

Module 3 – Planning for Sustainable Projects

Embedding sustainability in project charters and plans – Risk assessment and sustainability metrics – Resource efficiency and green procurement

Module 4 – Implementation and Stakeholder Collaboration

Building and managing sustainable project teams. Communication strategies for sustainability. Community engagement and partnerships.

Module 5 – Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting.

Setting KPIs for sustainability Environmental and social impact monitoring Reporting frameworks (GRI, ESG)

Module 6 – Innovation and the Future of Sustainable Project Management.

Circular economy and regenerative models – Emerging technologies (AI, IoT, blockchain) – Building a culture of sustainability
